Have stayed at the Beacon before and love the hotel. The customer service from the staff at my recent trip was exceptional! From an easy check in/out process to the friendly greetings upon every entry and exit. Will stay here again on my next trip to NYC.
We were impressed by the restrained, not overly lavish decor, the interesting art, the comfortable bed and the small kitchenette, as well as the swiftness of the elevator. Moreover the thermostat actually worked, which has not always been our experience. The front desk staff was friendly and welcoming, in one case, convinced we had stayed before, which we hadn't. Would definitely come back.
Love this hotel and stay here all the time. This time, my room smelled as if someone had been smoking in it. Housekeeping as always iswonderfful. Will make an effort to book direct though I thought I had. Tried logging in to site and must have redirected me.
We have stayed at Hotel Beacon on many occasions when visiting NYC. The hotel is well appointed, staff are extremely polite and helpful and the location couldn’t be better. Love the kitchenette for quick breakfasts before heading out for the day. Great gourmet grocery right across the street. Would highly recommend!

With grief and loss of a difficult divorce and having to move out of 26 years residency on Central Park West I lived at Hotel Beacon back in the 1990's and enjoyed the respectful kindness of the staff, the neighborhood location of the hotel and the convenient kitchen in my room. Again, with grief and loss, I had to leave New York after "9/11", but over the years, I have found my way back to the comfort and kindness of The Beacon. There is an old school respect and dignity with every staff member and me as their guest. Lastly, I hesitate to tell this about myself, but the people residing in the hotel and the front desk staff deserve awards for this behavior. Coming down the hall to my room from the elevator, I got discombobulated looking for my room card in my bucket bag purse. When I got settled in my room, the house phone rang and it was the front desk saying my wallet had dropped on the floor, a resident returned it to the front desk and would I come down and claim it, check it out for completeness. It was totally all there and returned to me. Yes it had money and all was completely there. I will always be grateful to Hotel Beacon and to its fine staff and exceptional residents myself included.
